CYDI Triple Threat Road Map

CYDI offers work-based and hands-on learning for all students to encourage creativity and imagination and provide a unique opportunity to learn and earn money while enrolled. Our program is designed to improve our students' options and better prepare them for college and careers by creating a seamless curriculum between high school and college and providing work-based learning experiences.

  • Develop an Individual Learning Plan
    • Evaluate Credits
    • Discuss Course Requirements With Your Advisor
    • Leave space for ILP to develop and evolve over time.

  • Participate in a blended-learning model that includes hands-on learning core competencies-driven curricula. Students also earn industry certifications.

    After one semester of career lab exploration, students will identify a Career Pathway.

  • Participate in explorative activities, including college and trade school visits, professional job shadowing, and career lunch and learn round table discussions with industry professionals.

    Each student should:
    • Attend one college Visit
    • Attend one career-related field trip.
    • Attend one lunch and learn with an entrepreneur in the community.

  • Enroll in dual credit/enrollment courses, sign-up for work-readiness paid internship, and a complete business plan.

    •Complete at least one dual credit/enrollment course
    • Apply for a CYDI work-ready program (YouthBuild, IYIP, or external job)
    • Complete business plan and prepare to compete in the CYDI Shark Tank competition.

  • Identify final post-secondary matriculation plan by applying for college, trade school, securing permanent employment, and/or establishing a legal business entity through the state.
